Which piggie is right

Hello,

I've been wanting to get a guinea pig for a long time.  I have to girls (young... ages 5 & 3) who will be loving him/her as well.  My question is...... which ones are the best for my situation?  With the kiddos.  Males or females, long or short haired.  The lady at Petsmart told me the females are more laid back and gently, and the males are a little more aggressive and get big!!  So, what do you think?  Or course, the kids will only have supervised play time with the piggie.

Any info is greatly appreciated!!

My advice to you....go to a guinea pig rescue or shelter! They will help pair you up to the perfect piggie(s) they are herd animals..so maybe a SAME SEX pair would be a good idea for you!!

I wouldn't reccomend a petstore piggie..they are often sick..and they USUALLY don't separte the piggies by sex...SEVERAL people get a pair of "males" and end up with babies..or get a single piggie..and she was preg before they got her!!
