Question
We have two female guinea pigs. They have always gotten along well. One piggy was more dominant than the other piggy. Lately the more shy piggy keeps trying to bite the other pig. Do you know why all of a suuden she would be showing aggression?

Answer
Hello Sue,
it sounds like the other shy piggie is wanting to be dominant now and is challanging the other one. Whenever one of the piggies back down it should be fairly normal again, but this is pretty common with piggies. There's many reasons why she could be challanging her now, she may feel more confident to challange her now than before. It's kind of like two sisters fighting, it happens quite often but nobody should get hurt. Unless they are in an all out fight and drawing blood I wouldn't seperate them. They will be okay.
