Question
I actually have two questions:

1) My BF fell in love with a one day old GP my friends just had.  It is very sweet and cute, but it does have one eye larger than the other, which I think is another reason why we like him so much kinda an underdog. We have never owned a GP but from this sight I have picked up quite a bit. I was wondering if this might cause for any medical problems in the future and high medical bills?
2) Even though the babies are only one day old they are already eating the solid pellets, I read on this sight weening takes 6 weeks, could we bring him home sooner or would it be best to waite?

Answer
Hi LaDonna

In terms of the eye, providing it is a gentic deformity rather than an eye infection then I am sure it wont have any long term effects on the piggies quality of life.

As the pig in question is a male, he should be separated from the mother at 3 weeks of age as its possible for a male to be sexually mature early and inbreeding would be very bad.

However, ideally, he shouldnt be removed entirely from the family until he is around 6 weeks of age to avoid stress.
