New male with my female?

Question
Hi! I have a 3 month old female guinea pig, and I would like to buy a 3 month old male guinea pig that I have had my eye on.  I do not want to breed these two guinea pigs, I just want to have them both.  I would like to get the male neutered, and then keep them in the same cage. I was wondering if there would be any sexual behavior between them, because I do not really want that.  I dont want them to be mates, I just want them to be friends.  Let me know how these two guinea pigs would most likely behave around each other, and any seggestions on what I should do.  Thank you for your time! :)

Answer
Hello Claire and thanks for the question,

That is an interesting question. Neutering the male is  good start but if you want NO SEXUAL behavior at all from them, I would spay the female.

She "may" or "may not" have inclinations toward the male if he is altered BUT she may also shows signs of "heat" if she is still intact. To be sure neither of them have any interest, alter them both.

Thanks and have a nice day,
Ryan
