Question
I want to take my piggie, Lenny, outside. But I'm concerned about mites, and him eating the grass.  Is bermuda grass poisnous and is he guaranteed to get mites or fleas by going outside to play in the yard for a while?  I live in Texas so it's WAY too hot during the day, but sometimes in the evenings I know he'd have fun playing outside but I don't want to risk an illness.  Should I just continue to have floor time inside?  Thanks for any info you can give me.  Also, he chips quite often and I've read that they do this mostly out of fear but have you ever experienced them doing this out of excitement or happiness?  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Kelley

I let my 3 males out to run round my yard during the cool weather (I live in UK so I get plenty of that) and they have never had any problems.

I don't know anything about Bermuda grass, sorry.

Most piggy noises are because they are happy, so chances are Lenny makes his noise because he is happy too! Only really high pitched squeals are to be worried about.
