Question
Hi, I just have a quick question-I adopted two beautiful guinea pigs about a month and a half ago..they were at that time 5 months. They came from a rather large litter and were housed with both the mother and the father, the only other boy in the litter was kept in a different area due to his agrresion toward his father.Three weeks ago I found out that one of the girls was very pregnant she gave birth 06/11/06 to a litter of 7 (3-girls , 4 boys) . This is were everyone freaked out the other sow who we never felt anything moving inside of-no clue-gave birth 06/27/06 all apparently still born.  Is there any chance that the sow who just gave birth (Charlie is her name) be traumatized by the still birth? In the last few weeks she has shown aggresion toward the other sow (Sheldon) and her babies so we now keep her separate.
Please respond to either the above email or to nyghtsong@yahoo.com Thanks!

Answer
your situation is just like many. most sows show anger to other sows and there babies becasue their jealous. it is almost positive that she could have another still born birth, if she got pregnant again. just treat her like you would with any other guinea pig showing your love and affection. wow 7, are you going to keep them all.
