stones in the bladder

My Vet isn't very knowledgeable about guinea pigs,so here goes. Cosmo, my pig, has had an xray & I was told that it showed possibly 3 small stones in her bladder. She has been bleeding as a result and even though her appetite is excellent she is losing weight & has lost her energy. Surgery, I'm told is not very successful.Is it possible to pass the stones? Any suggestions or advice. Many thanks!!

Sometimes they can pass them, but too often surgery is required. Typically, surgery goes well, though you would need a vet who knows piggies well to do the surgery. I'll send you a link about bladder stones that may be useful.
