Question
Hello, I am going to be getting a guinea pig or two for myself for my birthday(no surprise pets!) I was wondering will a single piggie be tamer and more loving to me then if I had two? I'd love to have a litter or two from them when there old enough if I can think of where to place the babies before hand... can the male/female live together from the time I get them?

I am wondering how to tame the piggies qucikly, I would like to have them friendly as soon as possible after I get them any tips on taming would be helpful,

There is this large rabbit cage petcetera sells, its 42 inches long 20 inches wide and 25 inches tall... will this hold 1/2/3 piggies ok?(bearing in mind the female may have a litter in this cage in the future).

And lastly I'd like to get a pair of female bunnies at the same time I was wondering can they free run together? not live together but exewrcise together?

thank you for your help in advance.

Answer
Hi, well single piggies, sometimes get bored or depressed if you don't have another friend for them, so getting 2 I think is always better. They wil love you no matter what. It depends how old they are when you get them, to put them together. If they are babies putting a male and a female together is a bad idea because the female is too young to have babies and that could cause implications in the birthing process. Ask a vet or the petstore for the correct age to breed. Never put 2 males together, they will fight. 2 females are fine. A rabbit cage, should be large enough for them and IF you feel its not big enough when you have a litter then you can find a larger one. Rabbits and Gp's can get along well together, some even let them house together. But that would mean you have to feed them sepereatley, plus rabbits are so big. So yes they can play together. but get seperate cages. Thank you for the ? and I hope I was of some help./
