Sick Guinea Pig---How long to recover V. C?

Question
Just to follow up: Thanks so much for the quick answer, I really needed it. I followed your advice and brought her to a different vet---I went through the yellow pages until I found one with lots of guinea pig experience. It turns out that Bubbles had a huge ovarian growth, not Vitamin C deficiency. She was in a lot of pain and after the vet consulted with her colleague, they decided there wasn't anything they could do, so the vet put her to sleep and I held her until she was gone. Poor guinea pig. She had a good guinea pig life, though. Is there anything I can do to minimize the stress of the loss for her cagemate? Other than get another guinea pig?

Answer
I am very Sorry Nonnie for your loss. I lost one of my Gp's this July. It's very hard. My Guinea pig whom is now alone, gets plenty of attention from me and lots of love. He is fine, even though his friend is gone. Just spend a lot of time with the Other Gp and they will be fine. Gp's just need love and time with you to feel better. Good luck with the piggy and again, I am extremely sorry Bubbles is gone...(Cute name, by the way). I am glad you took her to the other vet, see? Sometimes, the vet's want to get you in and out and don't further investigate, but at least now you know you did all you could. Have a good day :)
