My guinea pig likes to jump...

My guinea pig likes to jump out of peoples arms when hes being held,and one day he jump out of mine  and one of his front teeth came out.Should i take him to the vet? Will his tooth grow back?Please help me ,im only 11 , and i have never owned a guinea pig before ,and im just so afraid  and scared that i hurt him!Please Help Me!!!

Dear Brandi,

Your guinea pigs tooth will grow back just fine, as long as he's healthy. It might be harder for him to eat now. So you should try making his food easier to eat by possibly cutting it. Do you give him carrots or vegetables like lettuce? You should, and when you do, chop up the carrot-tops into very tiny pieces. For the next few days give him the same amount of food everyday as you usually do. If you notice more food being left back then normal, or that he's not eating enough--than take him to the vet. Don't worry though, guinea pig's teeth grow back like their nails! Just observe his eating habits. Also whenever anybody is holding him, ask them to stay down low on their knees to avoid him falling. Falls from guinea pigs and result to serious injuries, they are not like hamsters or ferrits--they're natural instincts aren't to climb. Remember feed him his regular guinea pig food along with vegetables.
