Question
we bought 2 girls and unknown to us both were pregnant !both girls have had 2 babies each. under advise from the shop, we have separated each mother with her babies. was this the right thing to do ? They were all getting along well although one mum seemed more confident with her babies and was tending to babysit (and maybe nurse)the other 2 as the mum doesnt seem as confident.the babies are almost a week old - when we can handle them to sex them ?

Answer
Only handle them if the mother is happy for you to, and don't take them away for too long!
Sorry for the brief answer, I am very busy, however you did the right thing to separate them!
Bad news, it might be difficult to put them back together afterwards!
If all goes well and you keep the babies, here is something I did, I got a big enough run and cage to keep all the females and all the males from one litter together, obviously don't put the males with the females if you aren't going to neuter them
