Guinea pig friends!

Me and my boyfriend have a beautiful (if slightly insane) little pig named Dylan for nearly 6 months now. He is currently living alone, inside our house. He gets loads of attention and we don't think he is lonely or anything but we have been considering getting another piggy-friend for him. We don't know whether to get a boy or a girl though....we have heard that there is a high possibility of 2 males fighting, but obviously a male and a female will breed (which is lovely, but we don;t have the time or resources to cope with baby pigs!). How safe is it to get a guinea pig neutered? Thanks for your help!

You can get another male if Dylan is a calm Guinea Pig and isn't known for being aggressive, it'll lower the possibility of fighting and if you introduce them slow you have pretty much eliminated the possibility of fighting.

It is fairly safe to get a Guinea Pig neutered as long as the vet has done the surgery before successfully and as some experience in it. Otherwise it can be dangerous to do the surgery.
