rolo   Hi,I was just wondering what breed my boy Rolo is? Some say crested roan some say he's a gold/chocolate brindle.

Answer
There is a difference between 'breed' and 'color.'  A Crested is a breed. Breed refers to coat type, in this case a Crested. Here in the US all Cresteds must have a white crest and no other white on the body.

In the UK, Australia, and most of Europe Cresteds are accepted with any color. Roan is a color, not a breed. In order to be a roan, the base color is typically white with striations of another color. Roans have a black head. Rolo's color could be called a brindle, also referring to color, not breed.

I would characterize his color as a brindle rather than a roan. But his breed is a Crested. I hope this helps.
