Question
Hi again!  i took Cherry and Blossom to the vet at my local petsmart, and they said it was definately an infection! she gave them both some liquid medicine called Vibramycin. its hot pink, and to my surprise they LOVE it! i have to yank the nipple out of their mouth! but i have some very bad news! my sister and mom are going to sell chessy ad checkers!!! i tottaly object, why cant i take care 4 piggies im responsible, but once again not rich! o well, maybeeee i can cnvince my parents to let them stay. and if not, i have a friend who loves animals as much as me, and adores Chessy! If she can convince her mom, she will want them. but, untill then, i'm taking care  of them! they are extremely happy, because today they met hay heaven! i covered the entire cage w/ hay 2 inches thick, and piled it up to the igloo they were in! they were ecstatic, they haven't seen that much hay their entire lifes!!  *taylor*

Answer
Hello Taylor.

I looked up that medicine your giving them, and that's actually good to use. It's a strong antibiotic. :) I've heard of alot of places that gives guinea pigs the wrong medicine, and it's happened to me as well. I'm glad to hear they are on medicine. I would keep chessy and checkers away from your sick pigs. Infections in piggies are very very contagious.

I wonder why your sister is giving up her pigs?  Does she not want them anymore?  Maybe, like you said, it could go to a friend or family member, then you could still visit them. I take care of 4 pigs myself, and it's alot of work, but worth it if you love pigs.

So they have finally seen hay heaven? lol. My pigs are there every day. The funny thing is though, that's what they start popcorning over, when they hear the hay bag open. I have 2 hay racks, and i also pop big bunches of hay in different areas of the cage. It's always gone by the next day. Have you tried stuffing a empty toilet paper roll with hay?  Pigs LOVE it.

Keep in touch. I like talking with you.
