Breeding Hairless Guinea Pigs

Question
I am wanting to know if you breed a haired guinea pig boar to a hairless carrier sow will you get any hairless guinea pigs from this combination ?  I have been told that you should not breed a hairless sow to a hairless boar as there are serious complications and you could lose your female, and the babies could be stillborn,is this true? Someone else said that you should not breed your hairless sows at all. Is this true? I have been told that you can only breed a hairless gene carrier sow to a hairless boar and that is how you can get some hairless babies, is this true? One person told me to breed a hairless sow to a haired boar and then after the babies are old enough you can breed one of the males to the mother and then their litter will have some hairless babies, do you know anything at all about how to breed hairless guinea pigs and do it safely? Please let me know all the information you can give me on the hairless guinea pigs and breeding them as I am really interested in breeding them. I think they are absolutely adorable. Thank You So Much T.L Richardson

Answer
Hi Tracy

I don't have any experience myself with hairless guinea pigs so am not the best person to be asking. However I have found the following website which you may find useful and there is a contact name on the website incase you have any more questions.

I hope you find the site useful and sorry for not being able to answer your questions myself.
