Question
QUESTION: i have two guineapigs one is definatley a boy but the other i have had for 6 months and can really not tel weather its a boy or a girl when i bought him/her they said it was a boy but me n my dad dont think it is as we have bred before i really dont kno and i want them to have babies! write back please
ANSWER: Sophie,

Here is how you find out if the Guinea Pig is a male or female.

Boars (male guinea pigs) are generally larger than females, have smaller nipples, and when sexually mature, clearly visible scrotal pouches. Gently pressing on the belly near the genitals will allow the penis to emerge.

Sows (female guinea pigs) have a Y shaped opening which is usually sealed with a vaginal closure membrane, according to Harkness and Wagner.

If you need a little more help then that, check out this site. It should help you out if your still unsure. The site is this http://www.guinealynx.com/sexing.html

Good Luck to you and I hope everything works out.

QUESTION: sorry to bother you again but i also should mention that my two cavys get along famously and the boy always follows the other cavy , they never fight and there always cuddeling up together does this mean that they are a girl and a boy is it more likely ?? thankyou

Answer
Sophie,

The cuddling up together could mean a more likely result of boy and girl. As male Guinea Pigs don't normally get along that well with other males, unless they are brothers or have grown up together since an early age of 4 weeks. So I say your chances of having a boy and a girl are pretty good.

Good luck to you.
