QuestionHello! I understand that Guinea Pigs are sensitive to drafts. What is the difference between a draft, an open window, an overhead fan, or an air conditioner? Are they all just as bad? What is it that makes the draft harmful?
AnswerHi Alisha
A draft is bad because the pig gets occasional cold air in a warmer atmosphere.
An open window, a fan or air conditioning is not a problem because this makes the temperature constant.
The bigger problem is damp rather than drafts. The draft would have to be accompanied with uncleanliness in the cage and a damp environment to be a real problem.
