Question
I have a runt guinea pig and she is old enough to leave the mother, but I do not know what to feed her, how much to feed her, how to play with her, or what toys she would like. I do not know what to do. I only have a tunnel, a little mousey, and her igloo to sleep in! I also have a little towel tunnel she loves to run through. Please help!

Answer
If she's old enough to leave the mother (at least four weeks of age) she should have already been eating the same thing mom eats. Guinea pigs don't really like toys. They like igloos because they like to hide. Other than that they don't need toys at all.

If you're worried that she isn't eating like mother then she should be left with the mom for a couple more weeks. She will continue to nurse and that will help with her growth. Weaning too soon is always a mistake. I leave my runts with the mom until I know for sure they're strong enough to survive without her.
