Hey Andy,

I have a female pig, Pumpkin, who just recently lost a play mate a couple of days ago. The past pig just simply died of old age.  I am thinking of adopting a new pig for Pumpkin to play with/ or even live with, but I wasnt sure about a couple of things.


  Is it okay to adopt a new baby guinea pig and introduce them properly and make sure the new pig is healthy or is it better to get an older piggy that is Pumpkins age? For example, is it okay to house a young baby pig with an older pig? Pumpkin is 1 and a half maybe two years and I didnt know if it was okay to have a young pig with her or an older one?

Firstly, I am sorry to hear about your loss.

I would always recomend getting a baby to go with an adult as it almost never causes fighting when the two are introduced. You will find Pumpkin will mother the baby.

She will be much happier if they live together.
