QuestionMy son just got this pig from a friend. I believe the she is a female and about a year old. I was petting her tonight and I noticed a "knot" on one side. Do guinea pigs get cancer like rats? What is the average life of a pig? Hope you can help me and thank you for your time.
AnswerShalom --
Well, there are several causes for this and yes, one of them is cancer. Guinea pigs can get almost any disease humans can, so I would expect almost anything. To be perfectly honest, I would take this animal to the vet. Most of the things that cause lumps are pretty serious.
I know this isn't the news you wanted. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me -- I'll try to provide better news. Good luck!
