QuestionOne of my boar selfs has recently died. They were brought up together and the remaining pig, despite having bullied the other, is now seemingly lonely. I try to spend a little time with him each day but have recently had a baby so this is difficult.
Is there any way of introducing strange pigs to one another so that they live compatibly? Is it fair (or at least very expensive) to give a boar the snip so that I can keep a male and female as companions?
AnswerHi Tigg
Firstly, I am sorry to hear about your loss.
By far the best course of action is to add another male pig to the other. However, it must be a baby, ideally of 6 weeks age, and you should introduce them on neutral territory, dont just put the new pig in the cage.
Hope that helps
