Question
This morning I awoke to the sound of a new squeak under my bed(my piggies are allowed free roam around bedroom and often retreat to under bed when I go to sleep) and I used a flashlight to investigate and spotted a single baby piglet being cleaned up by ma pig. My question is what should I feed it? He is too small to crawl up walk way into cage where food and water is kept. Should I place him in there? Should I modify walkway so he can gain access or will ma pig take care of him until he is bigger? Any help would be appreciated. Also what is typical $ for neutering piglets...I don't think I want anymore (I now have 3)at this time. Thank you very much....Squeak Squeak

Answer
you might want to place food out side of the cage. if you have a typical water bottle, turn it around facing outside the cage. it eats the same things as the other piggies. mom will do her part.
fixing piggies is something to look into, but never fix a sow (female) unless your cavy vet recommends you to due to health reasons. call your vet and ask to get an accurate price. you may also want to get the baby sexed so there is no risk of the mom being impregnantyed again. piggies become sexually mature at about 2 months i age.
