Question
well thanks to your earlier info i now know that my guinea pig
is pregnant and the baby feels as big as a hamster with plenty of movement so i guess my question is... Now that i know she is pregnant and feeling her bones i have also noticed that the baby
is now lying long ways instead of side-to-side inside of Daizee
like i can feel the babys'face close to her bottom under her belly
and kicks in her ribs instead of at her sides
so is she gonna deliver sooner than the 30th?
thanks again and how do i rate your answers?

Answer
I'm happy to have been able to help you can a little more insight into guinea pigs 101.  I have to tell you that in all my years of raising cavies I'm still no good at telling how many babies are in there and whether they're face up or down.

If you're feeling the movement then she's about two weeks (maybe two and a half) away from delivery. You may be actually feeling more than one. For me it's always a surprise as to how many are in the litter. I have a Teddy sow that just gave birth this afternoon and from the size of her I would have bet she'd have three or four pups. She had only two, but both were pretty large.

My friend Sam Amison who is one of the other experts, is excellent at feeling how many babies there are. I've tried and tried to follow his instructions and still I can't do it! I guess you just have to have "the touch."

When your babies come I'd love to see pictures! I never get over the wonder of their births.
