Question
Hi
I have a bout 5 female guinea pigs that could be pregnant but I'm not sure how can I tell
It has been at least a month if not two that I have been waiting to see if they are pregnant as I didn't write down if any went with a male and when or how long for.
(2 look fat/pregnant)
Thanks

Answer
You won't be able to tell until they get closer to delivery. Gestation is about 70 days. They're only in heat for a couple of days at a time and recycle every two or two and a half weeks. The actual breeding lasts only seconds, so it's highly unlikely you would have known the exact moment or day.

I've had sows in with boars for months before they finally conceived. Typically when you have one boar with several sows they will not all conceive at the same time. The boar seems to lose energy between breedings and most of mine would deliver about two weeks apart.

Just looking fat isn't proof. Unless you feel babies moving that doesn't mean anything.
