QuestionHi there
Today i took home an 18 month old long haired sow. She is from a rescue centre.
However she has been in contact with some young males (briefly) of about 6 months of age. I do not know my sows past and whether she has bred before-I suspect not. I am now panicking she oculd be pregnant with her first litter and she's 18 months! What is my best course of action?
Also the males were smooth haired - I know you have to be careful with certain breeds breeding.
Thanks
Tanya
AnswerHi Tanya
Do not worry if she is 18 months she will be fine with the pregnancy i had a guinea pig that was 18 weeks and she had babies so things will be ok
and with the smooth hair males that can sometimes be a risk but for most of the time it is ok
i had a smooth haired female and a long haired male and they had three lovely babies 2 males and i female
so i wouldnt worry to much
Good lUck have fun with the new babies when they are born
