bedding choices

my local feed store grounds up left over sunflower stalks and bits into a bedding type material.  Is this okay to use for guinea pigs or do they have reactions to it?

Hi Liz,

I'm afraid there's no easy answer to his, and guinea pigs are very individual about their allergies, just like people. As long as none of the components in the bedding are poisonous to guinea pigs and so long as they are all soft, it might be worth a try. Be aware that guinea pigs are very sensitive to changes in their environment though, and that an allergic reaction could be sudden and severe.
