Late Stage of Pregnancy

Question
My pregnant guinea pig seems to have reduced appetite and I am wondering whether this is normal during the late stages of pregnancy or whether I should be concerned about her health.  I believe she is at least 7 weeks pregnant because we can feel the babies moving but cannot yet see them moving.

Answer
If you're feeling babies move she's not far from delivery. The pregnancy is about ten weeks long. The change in appetite is normal. Offer her some lettuce, carrots or melon pieces every day but in small amounts. That will keep her properly hydrated which is necessary especially during the warm summer months.

You may or may not actually see the babies move, but the fact that you can feel them does indicate she's in the latter part of her pregnancy.

Best of luck to you and your new babies. They're a real joy to watch and see how quickly they grow.
