skin disorder

I am currently foster parenting a G.P.  She starting losing her hair before she came under my care.....I am assuming from stress.  It is slowly coming back but she has small sores to  go along with the hair loss, any major concerns?  I have been treating them with NEOSPORIN.  She doesn't seem to be in any distress.

Hello Shea and thanks for the question.

Skin disorders and fur loss stem from a variety of causes. Stress IS one of them though it is much more rare than "medical" causes. Is your GP getting enough vitamin C and other nutrients from food? Have you checked her for mites/lice?

If this has been going on for some time I would continue to treat the abcesses with first aid antibiotic cream and see a vet asap.
