Question
i have 2 male guinea pigs and i recently got them from another home . One of my guinea pigs keeps squealing when the other goes near it what does this mean ? will they start fighting ?

Answer
Sometimes two males can live together without any incident. Some however do fine until they reach sexual maturity, about six months old, then they begin a territorial behavior that can lead to serious fighting and injury.

You will just have to watch carefully for any behavioral change that might indicate one of them is beginning to try to bully the other. If that happens you will need to separate them permanently.

If there are no females around that they can sense or smell they may be just fine. The squealing is often a defense cry as the victim feels threatened by the other pig.  It doesn't necessarily mean they will fight but you need to be aware that their natural instincts may prevent them from being willing to share space together.
