Question
hey my new guinea pig that I got, the mom of my old one, has these clear flea looking bugs on her. Is there anything I can buy for that to cure her, or does it go away on it's own?

I also wanted yo know if weels were good for them, I bought a plastic one with no bars or like holes that their feet can get caught in, I heard wheel were bad for their feet but their feet can't get caught in them. It's called the "silent wheel". Can they run on it, I haven't put it in their cage yet but I don't know if it will hurt them or not.

hello, I just got 2 baby guinea pigs, one is like a week older then the other. They are both females and from different litters. I had one for about a week and then went to the pet store to get another "friend" for it. I have had both for about 2 weeks and all they do is chase eachother around, make eachother sqeal, bite eachothers noses, butts, and ears, and they run away from eachother. It has been going on since the day I got the new guinea pig. I have also asked a couple more experts on if they were fighting or not and all they really said was "I should know when they fight", well I don't know if they are fighting or playing. The new guinea pig mostly attacks my other one, even though my other one is a little bigger. How do I know if they are playing or fighting? What do they do when they fight? What do they do when they play? Then when I seperate them in different cages they "talk" to eachother and try to see eachother through the cages, but when they are in the same cage together sometimes they try to chew through the bars of the cage. The cage I keep them both in is brand new and is really big, but they still try to chew through it, I don't know if it's because they want to get away from eachother or if they just want to come out. Then when one gets a drink or food the other one pushes and bites it to move it and then they try to eat or drink. Also I have an igloo in the cage that is big and they sometimes both go in it but when they both go in it they sit at opposite ends as far away from eachother as they possibly can. Then sometimes the new guinea pig won't even let my guinea pig inside it. Everyone I asked so far has a different answer to what I am asking one person said it was domenence, the other said it was playing, and the one I recently asked said they were fighting. Are they fighting or playing? Should I seperate them or keep them together. When I went to the petstore to get the new one for my other one it didn't treat any of the other guinea pigs like this, it was sleeping and cuddling with the litter mates in the cage it was in but when I brought it home it was a whole new guinea pig, all it ever does is chase, bite, and she makes my other guinea pig sqeal really loud. I also wanted to know if wheels were bad for guinea pigs, because I bought mine a wheel, but I haven't put it in it's cage yet because I heard they were bad for them. It's called a silent wheel, and its not bars where their feet can get hurt but it is all plastic with no cracks or holes in it. Can I put this wheel in it's cage. Please explain to me if they are fighting or playing, and can you please tell me the difference. Thanks!!

Hey Alexandra, Well it seems that you are having a rough time with your guinea pigs. A few years ago, I had the same problem. I had 2 Gp's at the time and one died. I figured that I should get another one for the one still alive, and when they were put together they fought. Fighting means, that they are attacking eachother and biting and doing anything to keep the other one from having food and so on. Most times Gp's act diffrently at the store, because most of the others in the cage are its siblings. They are bred from the same mother and they have a bond. But it seems like your two are fighting. If they were playing they would just chase eachother and ect. They wouldn't be trying to eat the other one. Trust me. And when they bite the cage they are most likley aggitated and want to get to the other one to fight. Sometimes Gp's wont get along and the only thing you can do is seperate them. Is there anything else you need? Let me know okay? or if this didn't fully clarify please write back!!

Want to know something? I have never heard of a guinea pig having a wheel before. I am not sure if it is bad for them or not. I doubt they would even run on it. Gp's are often lazy and won't do anything but chew it or sniff it. you can try and put it in there. I doubt they will touch it, But let me know.   p.s.---Normallly its only mice and other small creatures that can use wheels.

Answer
Hey, Um, If they are for sure fleas, or could be mites, there is spray you can buy at the petstore. You may want to take her back to the store you got her from and ask them what they think they are and they should be able to direct you to buy a certain product. Be careful though if you get one of the sprays that you keep it away from the Guinea pigs face, mouth, ect. Write back if you need anymore help, and let me know what the petstore says. Thanks
