Question
It's me Giovanna....... Your advise was vry usefull for me....... Thank you:)  something dt I've been worried about the last two days are that the guinea pig who looked like she was pregnant looks like its stomach has got a bit smaller, do you think she could not be Pregnant even after she was kept in with both the males for a month and 10 days? The other girl looks a bit more fatter than it used to be though....... They still eat, drink and sleep a lot compared to the males....... I hv checked on the Internet on pregnant guinea pigs and their tummies are huge but my guinea pig doesn't look that fat....... Though it still looks a bit fatter than normal....... Do you think that my two girl piggies couldn't actually be pregnant?

THANK YOU

Answer
Not to worry, yes indeed she could still be pregnant. Some sows get enormous when they're pregnant and some barely show but still have a litter of three or more babies. Size isn't always an indicator. I've found that the sows that have had previous litters tend to get bigger and stay that way even after delivery. Much like some women that never lose their "baby fat" after having children.

Trying to compare one pig's size to another does nothing but confuse you. At this point there's nothing you can do but wait and see. Rest easy and let go of the worry. It won't do anything but keep you from getting a good night's sleep.
