guinea pig abnormalities

Question
Three weeks ago our sow gave birth to two live young. One is agile and was feeding independently within the week. The other has some abnormalities but I'm not sure if these will be permanent: It loses balance easily, appears disoriented and has difficulty locating the food in its enclosure. At three weeks, it is not wasting away, but I'd appreciate any suggestions as to what I should do to help it (besides making sure it gets it's fair share of food)?

Answer
Hi Wendy

I really recommend you take this pup to see a vet as everything you describe points to a problem in the inner ear so a professional taking a look would benefit you in the long term.

Andy

P.S Take the other pup and mother with you to prevent stressing the baby out.
