My Guinea Pig Twitches

Dear Lorena,

About 2 weeks ago I bought a Guinea Pig from a pet store. I do not know what kind of Pig he is. He seems happy, he eats a lot and goes to the bathroom but he twitches and it literally throws his whole body into the air. Is this normal or is there something wrong with him?

This is a behavior typical of guinea pigs.  The jumping is called "popping" and it's basically just a jump.  Believe it or not, they can jump up to two feet straight up!  Twitching is something that all guiena pigs do, and usually there's no reason, except that they must feel like it.  :)  If you don't notice any other problems, like being off feed and water, I wouldn't worry about it.
