Question
QUESTION: Why does my male guinea pig chew on another male guinea pig's hair?

ANSWER: Hi Nicole

Sometimes piggies will groom each other.

However, if big chunks of hair are being pulled out please let me know. If not, its relatively normal.

QUESTION: The short hair guinea pig has given the long hair guinea a haircut. He didn't pull out clumps. HE SHORTENED THE HAIR ALL OVER BY AT LEAST 1 1/2"inches.

ANSWER: Hi Nicole

Wow, perhaps he was jealous of his long hair lol.

Barbering (chewing of hair) is a sign of boredom which may be due to lack of exercise, room etc. Is there anything in the pig's environment that could be improved?

QUESTION: I let him run around by himself, somemtimes I let him and the other guinea pig(the almost bold one) run around together and then my guinea pig starts EATING his hair, he will eat any type of hair he one time ATE my hair about 4 inches of my hair! I don't know why he does that.

Answer
Hi

My piggies have ate my hair on accasions.

As I say, this isnt a major problem unless any kind of injury is being causes. The only other thing to consider is to make sure your pigs get a daily supply of hay as its possible that hair could be seen as a substitute.
