guinea pig/dry skin

my guinea pig has dry patchy skin that looks like a reptile sorta shpould i be worried ive trief bathing him but it hasnt helped

I am wondering if you have checked for mites, tiny bugs?  Another question, have you changed anything in his environment like bedding, hay, food or treats?

A good idea would be to cut his nails so that he doesn't scratch and apply some human body creme (unscented).  It could be a cyst, if its a bump.  It could be an older injury that has scabbed over.  Its very hard to tell.
