Smelly Poops, Hot Glue Dangers

Question
Hey there Cindy!

My 2 sows are happy and healthy.

Today, I noticed a very odd smell in my Guinea Pig's cage.

I lifted up one of my girls' Hiding Huts. It had poops all over and clumped up. Couldn't be an impaction, right? They are both Females.

BUT, they smelt TERRIBLE and some were mushy (most of the time there are a few mushy ones in my girls' poops) but not like fall apart in your hand mushy. Just, if you squeezed a bit, they would mush. But, so would all poops, right?

Also, I had to re-glue one of my Hidey Huts, as it was falling apart. I did an EXCELLENT job, for the most part. Only thing I am worried about is that there is a little bit of glue sticking out on the outside+inside of the hut, around the bottom corners. I am sure my Piggies wouldn't be able to get to it, because it is BARELY noticeable and it is at an awkward position to be chewed. Besides, they usually only chew the doorway and windows to the huts. BUT, if they WERE to get into the glue, would a minuscule amount be hurtful/fatal?

Thanks so much! First question I have asked!

Oh, wait, my girls are calling me for their food!

Thank you Cindy!

Answer
I sincerely doubt that any glue would be harmful to your piggies. Some of the hay that they eat is probably sharper. So not to worry. About the poops, have you changed food, hay or added some smelly fruit or veggie? This is the 2nd time that I have heard about stinky poops. I might change to spring water to drink and avoid soft veggies/fruit. I'm sorry that I can't give you more, but as long as everything else is fine,I would just remove poops as soon as possible. It could be that your bedding is facilitating the smell also! Hope this helps.
Good Luck, Cindy
