Guinea Pig Fur

Hello,
Thank You for reading my question.
I have a short haired guinea pig, and he is scratching and scratching is skin - so badly that he has a coin sized scab on his back. I clean out his cage often - I bathe him - I give him fresh food and veggies - I have honestly tried everything I can think of - I have even anti  bacterialised both his cages with dettol.
What can I do?
I have also tried putting fish oil in his food.
Please Help!

Hello Jemima!
I suggest taking him to the vet as scabbing is serious. I am currently treating one of my pigs for a severe dry skin problem that got so bad he has a cut on his leg from scratching.
A vet will prescribe a drug called Ivermectin if its  mites, make sure you get one per giunea pig in your house.
The vet may also give you a type of pain pill for the little guy.
