Rattly nose

Question
QUESTION: I have two female guineas, aged two and three quarters.A few days ago ,one developed an intermittent rattly nose, most noticeable when she was eating. She had no other symptoms whatsoever, and seemed fit and well.It got a bit louder,so i took her to the vet,who could find nothing wrong.(Unfortunately she didn't rattle during the examination). Now she is still rattling intermittently, but otherwise seems perfectly fine. The vet said if she had something up her nose, there would be a discharge. Can you help, please?

ANSWER: Dear Lesley
My Harry makes this noise when he is eating and it sounds like someone with a snotty nose.
Did the vet listen to his chest/lungs just to rule out any breathing problems?
If he did and all was well then I would not worry as long as your piggy continues to eat and drink normally.

QUESTION: Dear Mary,
Thank you very much for your answer. You have eased my mind!
Yes,the vet sounded her chest, which was clear, and she is eating normally.Have you any idea why she would suddenly start doing this ,after two and a quarter years ?
Regards Lesley.

Answer
Dear Lesley
as long as the vet has said her chest etc is clear all should be well.
My Harry started making this noise but I still have no idea why as hes not overweight and does not troff his food!
Just put it down to the noise being your piggys way :)
