Question
i just adopted a 6 week old male guinea pig and have found another i would like to adopt to be his companion.  the only problem is it is a girl.  she is a 2 year old and i was wondering if they would get along and if i should get her spayed.  thanks.

Answer
You need to keep them separate until you can get your male neutered. He can be neutered when he is 6 months old. Spaying a female is riskier then neutering a male because a spay is so much more invasive.

However, you CANNOT let them be together at ALL until after he is neutered, actually 3 weeks after the neuter. If a sow was to get pregnant at 2 years old it WILL kill her.
