sick piggy???

Hi, my 2 year old guinea pig "Vinny" started to "wheeze" yesterday, she is eating fine but stays mostly in her house and doesn't play with Rosie, the other pig. Vinny had this before and I took her to the Vet twice, but once there she would not "wheeze" and after checking her lungs the Vet said she is fine. Now she has it again. Not sure what to do, Is it safe to put Vick Vapor rub to the nose???? Thank you

Vicks vapour rub is the first thing to try so yes, a small dab on each nostril is fine and perfectly safe. You can also safely use sudafed, the human decongestant. The dose is 0.4ml per day.

If vetinary treatment is neccesary again, an antibiotic, such as baytril should clear things up quite easily.
