Female Guinea pig Behavior

Question
QUESTION: Hi, we have had my female guinea pig for just over a month, and lately she has been non-stop squealing, jumping around her cage, and avoiding be picked up more than usual. We really want to know why she is behaving this way!! Suggestions??

ANSWER: Hi Teagan

I have just answered a similar question to this from another person and it again sounds to me like something is bothering her on her skin so I would recommend you get her examined for mites or similar conditions as this would explain the behaviour.

QUESTION: Would giving her a bath help at all? She's not behaving that way anymore, so I'm wondering if mites are really what it was.

Answer
Hi again Teagan

OK, well if she has stopped then perhaps she was just going through a phase. If you cant see anything wrong with her skin then it may be nothing afterall.

There would be no harm in giving her a bath but dont do it more often than every 3 months as most piggies dont like baths.
