guinea pig - hay !?!?

is hay really necessary ? since its pretty expensive in the pet mart do guinea pigs have to go to the vet constanly like every month ? and are they playful ?

Hay is vital for fibre and to wear the teeth. You can probably get big bales from a local farm for much smaller cost.

Piggies dont need to go to the vets unless they are sick.

When a piggy settles into a new house they can certainly become very loving and playful.
