getting a new friend for my guinea pig

i have got a 4 year old female guinea pig - madge- who has had a rabbit for a companion until she died in February. do you think madge would accept a new guinea pig - if so what sex or would i be better with another rabbit since that is what she is used to or do you think she would be happier being left alone?

Hi Jill

For future reference, guinea pigs and rabbits should not be kept together. They are different animals with different dietary requirements and a rabbit can serious injure a pig by kicking with its hind legs.

The best friend for madge would be a young female as most females can get on with most others.
