QuestionOne of our two guinea pigs which we have had for 2 1/2 year died recently. We are concerned our surviving guinea pig might be lonely, should we introduce a new guinea pig and if how do we do that?
AnswerHi Marilyn
I am sorry to hear about the death of your pet.
The surviving pig may get lonely, and you will be able to tell if he/she is by the behaviour. It will look bored, sad and generally fed up, sat in a corner usually.
Regarding introduction of a new pig, if your pig is female, you can usually introduce a female of any age. If male, you must introduce a baby male in order to avoid fighting.
I hope that helps
