Question
I have a male guinea pig who is about a year old.  I was recently offered another one from a lady who is looking for a good home for one of hers as he is a male and not neutered and she has 2 other unspayed females.  I am concidering taking it but don't have to much experience with guinea pigs.  Is it possible to house these two males together even if they are older?  I don't want another cage as I have a bunch of other caged animals already and am running out of room.

Answer
Hello,

It is quite possible to house two male guinea pigs together.  As with humans, it depends on the temperament of your guinea pigs.  You may want to buy a small cage or a small tote for temporary usage so that you can gradually introduce them to eachother.  If you slowly introduce them, the chances of them getting along and being used to eachother are far more greater.
