I have an unneutered boar who is about 20 months old.  He was adopted from an animal shelter.  My daughter and I have recently met another very nice unneutered boar (at the same shelter) who is something like 13 months old.  We are very tempted to adopt him as a cagemate to our first g.p.

Thanks for the immediate reply!  We currently have a large commercial guinea cage (approx. 15" x 30") but bought materials for a c&c today.  I'm still a bit nervous that the two won't get along ... have you heard of pairings that don't work out?  Most of what I've read sounds like the g.p.s are pretty eager for company.  I think these two are a good match personality-wise but it's hard to tell really what an animal's like at the shelter, and also they're probably different with each other than they are with their owners.  What's your experience?

Answer
I have a cage of 2 males..both being only cavies thier whole life...they live together just fine...have a cage with 3 males, and a cage with 7 males.....so it just depends on the cavies....as  I mentioned...IF things don't go so well..divide it for awhile!!

BUT a 3 week quarantine period is a must!! You don't want the first piggie catchin something from the new one!!
