my guinea pig is not eating or drinking

QUESTION: Hi, my guinea pig is a boy named smores.  I know, silly name, right?  Anyways, I wanted to know if a guinea pig could die if he does not eat or drink for a day or two.  My guinea pig, Smores, has not eaten or drank in almost 2 days!  I am really worried because He is only 2 or 3 years of age!  I am scared he will die or something.  I can not afford to go to the vet, and I have had Smores for longer that a year!  He is really friendly, and loves people, and he is calm, everyone loves him, but the thing is, he will not eat or drink, and his cage has been clean for about 2 weeks!  I am really worried, and I do not know what to do, please help me with Smores.  I know he will love you for this, and so will I.

I love my guinea pig more that anything in the world, and I would hate to see him die, I give him attention all the time, he is always happy, and he breathes normal, and he walks the same, he is the same as always, but please, help a little girl out with smores.  I know you will do the right thing.

I am so sorry for the delay in replying, I have been sick myself.

Sadly, lack of eating is a sign of general ill health so its almost impossible to say what might be wrong without being able to examine Smores, sorry.

If he is still alive, why not try contacting a local animal shelter, they may be able to help with vetinary treatment.

QUESTION: well, he is not alive anymore. I miss him so much, he died in my arms, 2 days ago, on the 17th.    I loved him soooo much.  I wish he could have been able to live longer.   =`[

I am so very sorry. I know how you feel having lost many guinea pigs over the years.

I wish I had been able to answer your last question more quickly but I doubt I could have helped.

After a period of grieving I am sure you will give love to another one of these little creatures.
