QuestionI have a baby Guinea Pig I just bought, I was told it was a Texel. She does have a lot of hair compared to a short hair Guinea Pig. Her is not growing though and does not look to be wavy at least not yet. How do I know if she is a Texel or not ?? Do you have a picture of a baby Texel ? Thank you, Noelle
AnswerIf the hair is straight, and not curly or wavy, but it is long, then you most likely have a silkie. Texels when they are babies so have very curly hair. If your baby pig has areas where the hair separates around into a circle, then you most likely have a Peruvian, and if there is one crest on the pig's head then it is a coronet. I hope that makes sense.
