Question
My guinea pig cannot move his back legs. This came on suddenly but he still seems happy and is eating well.  He is moving around alittle by using his front paws to pull him.  Is there anything that I can do?

Answer
Dear Gemma,
I am not positive what is wrong with your piggy, but one possible explanation would be vitamin C deficiency or scurvy.  Symptoms of this would be loss of weight and fitness, limb joints becoming enlarged and painful, and becoming weak and lame.  The treatment for this would be giving 100 mg of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) by drops into the mouth once a day and providing fresh vegetables.
