Answer
Hello Inna,

Most Guinea Pigs do not bite. They can bite but, unlike other rodents, that isn't the first thing that occurs to them to do when hurt or frightened. Usually for a Guinea Pig to bite, you have to do something pretty awful to them. Each breed of Guinea Pig has their own special traits as does each individual piggy. Which one is best will depend on your preferences. Guinea Pigs can get worms and fungual infections such as ringworm. The get intestinal worms from ingesting worm eggs. They can get ringworm and other fungal infections if their cages are damp or if the come in contact with another piggy or person who has it. Guinea Pigs can get worms and ringworm if they live indoors, however, if their veggies are washed well and their cages kept clean, your piggy won't ever likely get either. Guinea Pigs can get lice (though not the same lice humans get). They can get lice from other piggies with lice or from infested bedding or hay. Worms, ringworm, and lice are usually not a problem if you are careful and your piggy is cared for well. I hope this has helped.
